There are several MOOC providers.
The Big Players
- Udemy – Has a partnership with professors. Founded by ex-Stanford professor Sebastian Thrun after his MOOC went viral
- Coursera – Formed by Standford University Professors Allen Ng and Daphne Koller
- edX – non profit organization formed by Harvard and MIT in response (at least in part) to commercial focus of providers above.
- offers degree certificate
- no credit is offered to Harvard’s and MIT’s actual students for taking this
